August 19, 2018. Hiking Day 12: Clay Bank Top to Blakey Ridge (Lion Inn).

August 19, 2018.  Hiking Day 12: Clay Bank to Blakey Ridge (Lion Inn).
Around 9.5 miles with about 300 feet of elevation gain.

This was an easy, flat day through heather-clad moors to the historic Lion Inn.  Life could be worse.  :)

Our hotel hosts dropped us off at Clay Bank Top and we resumed our C2C from where we had left it yesterday.  We made quick time along the easy paths and got to the Inn in time for lunch.  Not much to say about this day's journey; it was easy, straightforward, and pretty.  Here are a ton of photos --

This section was easy to navigate

Lots of red grouse nearby!

Soon there!

Our home for the evening -- the historic and popular Lion Inn

The Inn gets tons of visitors!
We ate outside, checked into our room, relaxed a bit, showered, and went to supper (in the Inn).

Next post -- August 20, 2018.  Blakey Ridge to Grosmont.
